When not to
buy Antvia
We would rather you worked this out in two minutes than after four meetings and a proof of concept. Here are the situations where somebody else is the better answer.
Work down the list
- Fewer than about 25 people will read a number? Then no. Buy Power BI. Genuinely. Come back when reporting is rationed.
- Do you have a data team that lives in SQL and wants maximum freedom? Then no. Buy Snowflake or Databricks with Superset. You will out-run our guardrails.
- Is deep custom visualisation the actual job? Then no. Buy Tableau. We are not close on that axis and will not pretend to be.
- One source, one dashboard, no compliance obligation? Then no. Metabase on a small server. You do not have the problem we solve.
- Committed Microsoft estate, comfortably above the Fabric capacity threshold? Then no. Fabric. One vendor is worth real money in that situation.
- None of the above? Then we are worth thirty minutes. Governance you can evidence, reporting that does not meter readers, and decisions you can measure.
Why we publish this
Partly because it saves everyone time. Mostly because a comparison page that never concedes anything is worth nothing, and this is the cheapest way to demonstrate that the ones on this site are written honestly.
There is also a self-interested reason and it is worth stating. A customer who buys the wrong platform churns, and a small company cannot absorb many of those. Disqualifying you now is better for us than onboarding you and losing you in month nine.
Where we are the right answer
A business between roughly fifty and a few hundred people who need numbers, without a data team, with more than a handful of sources that disagree with each other, and with somebody who has started asking whether last year's decisions actually worked.
That is a narrow description on purpose. It is also, almost exactly, the shape of most mid-market businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets and have not yet hired their way into a platform team.
